Fact check:

The debate between VP Harris and former president Donald Trump was almost a week ago and the reactions to the debate are interesting. I think consensually all can agree that Trump was not on his A game, like in the debate with Biden. What I mean by that is that He was not as reserved and took the bait from VP Harris every time. He didn't stay on issue because he felt the need to address everything Kamala was saying.  However, it didn't help that he was fact checked, rightfully so if needed, but VP Harris was never pushed on a range of lies. First, it has been disproven and debunked that Trump would support an abortion ban nationwide. Any candidate that supported that wouldn't sniff a victory in 2024. No push back from the moderators at all for that, and instead of answering a question with the allotted two minuets, Trump was left using some of the time to defend Himself. Another example is project 2025. Project 2025 has been a talking point for the Dems ever since it was brought to light, and frankly if true should be. However, Trump has repeatedly denied the claims that he supports it in its entirety. It is weird how a document Trump did not write or create is put on him, but the administration failures of whom Harris is apart of, isn't her fault. ABC, in my last blog, had already been unfair to Trump in its coverage, so it was not a huge surprise to see the bias fact checking. CNN in the first debate didn't fact check but ABC decided that it would take a different route. Both routes are ok to me, just make sure you are actually fact checking and doing it to both candidates. The biggest lie of the night is one that continues to be brought up and that is Charlottesville. A terrible act by people who have a lot of hatred in their heart taking to the streets to use their first amendment rights. This resulted in some uproar and it should have, but while Trump was speaking on the issue he referred to the main issue of statue replacement as having "fine people on both sides".  "In a news conference after the rally protesting the planned removal of a Confederate statue, Trump did say there were "very fine people on both sides," referring to the protesters and the counterprotesters. He said in the same statement he wasn't talking about neo-Nazis and white nationalists, who he said should be "condemned totally." (Snopes). All in all, the debate was a display of our country's disputing views. November 5th will be the day when the country can get back to pharmaceutical commercials and leave the election behind.
