The September Debate

President Biden and former President Trump agreed to three debates before Biden decided to hang it up. Since then, Trump has been hesitant to agree to a debate despite the calls for one. Trump says that he agreed with Biden to debate and therefore the rules he previously agreed to are no longer in play. The Harris team has called Trump's efforts a backsliding on his agreement. Is the media holding Trump to the same standard as Kamala? " At the time it accepted ABC’s invitation, the Harris campaign did so while making clear to the network that the rules themselves were up for debate." (politico). The ABC debate has been under scrutiny because like I mentioned before, Trump claims he agreed under the pretenses of Biden being the one debating. If that's the case, it seems unfair that Kamala would not compromise on the rules that Trump readily agreed upon to be on the debate stage with Biden. Harris and Trump will meet in September if the terms are agreed upon. The media ...

 Hello everyone, my name is Will Bogdan. During POLS 3380 I will be covering if the media is treating both political parties fairly. I intend to do this in a bipartisan manner by looking beyond the headlines and into the context. There is no way a clear answer can arise out of an opinion based blog, but I hope my assessment of the headlines and coverage makes one think about how the media covers parties in America.
